The Florio and Cinzano aperitif posters by Leonetto Cappiello are among the most recognisable works of early 20th-century commercial art. Cappiello, often called the father of modern advertising, brought a dramatic visual language to these Italian aperitif brands: bold, gestural figures set against deep or contrasting backgrounds, vivid colour blocking, and a sense of movement that commands attention even a century after the originals were printed.
