Forms by Henri Matisse Right Side is one of Matisse's iconic late-career cut-out compositions, in which the artist worked with pure colour and fluid, hand-cut shapes rather than traditional drawing or painting. The right-side panel presents a bold hourglass silhouette rendered in vivid cerulean blue against an open white ground. The contour is simultaneously monumental and weightless, carrying the organic sensibility that defined Matisse's gouache-découpé technique. There is a meditative stillness to the composition: no texture, no shadow, just the meeting of saturated colour and negative space.
