Tree of Knowledge No. 5 is one of Hilma af Klint's quietly radical works from her celebrated series exploring spiritual symbolism through abstraction. Painted in the early twentieth century, well before abstract art entered the mainstream, af Klint used organic forms, dualistic colour relationships, and a deeply personal visual language to map ideas about growth, duality, and the unseen forces she believed shaped human existence. The series draws on theosophical thought and a fascination with natural cycles, rendered in soft biomorphic shapes that feel simultaneously ancient and ahead of their time.

This print suits rooms where a sense of contemplation is welcome — a reading nook, a calm bedroom, or a home studio where ideas take shape. It fits naturally into Japandi, Scandinavian, or softly eclectic interiors, and works well alongside earthy neutrals, sage greens, or warm off-whites. The muted, layered palette brings depth without overpowering a space.
