Q: What makes Poster Room's art prints different from standard posters?
A: Our art prints are printed on thick, museum-quality archival matte paper that's noticeably heavier and more substantial than standard posters. Paired with gallery-grade inks, they produce rich, true-to-life colors and sharp detail that hold up beautifully for years to come.
Q: Do framed posters come ready to hang?
A: Yes, every framed piece arrives complete with a lightweight, shatterproof acrylic cover and hanging hardware included, so it's ready to display straight out of the box.
Q: Are the art prints custom made?
A: Yes. Every poster and framed art print is custom printed and made to order, so each piece is crafted individually with care rather than pulled from a warehouse shelf.

Katsushika Hokusai's The Great Wave off Kanagawa is one of the most recognised images in the history of art. Created around 1831 as part of his celebrated series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, it depicts a towering cresting wave about to crash over three narrow fishing boats, with the snow-capped peak of Mount Fuji sitting small but resolute in the distance. The composition is extraordinary in its tension: the curved, foamy claws of the wave frame the entire scene, pulling the eye in a circular motion that never quite settles. Hokusai used the distinctive Prussian blue pigment that had recently arrived in Japan, producing a range of deep indigo, cerulean, and white that gives the print its timeless, almost graphic quality. The contrast between the violent, churning sea and the serene, distant mountain has made this woodblock design a visual shorthand for both nature's power and human perseverance.
This print suits interiors that lean into Japandi, minimalist, or mid-century modern aesthetics, where its precise linework and restrained colour palette feel completely at home. A bedroom or home office benefits particularly from its cool blue tones, which bring a calm, focused energy without feeling cold. It also anchors a living room wall confidently, especially alongside natural materials like wood, linen, or rattan. The deep blues pair well with warm neutrals, charcoal, and earthy terracotta accents.
Printed on premium 200 g/m2 FSC certified paper with a museum-quality matte finish, every detail of Hokusai's intricate linework is rendered with high-resolution clarity and no glare. Optional framing is available in black, white, or natural pine wood with shatterproof plexiglass, arriving ready to hang straight from the box.
Orders are printed and dispatched within one to two business days, with delivery typically arriving in three to seven business days. Production is handled locally wherever possible, and orders to supported regions arrive without customs or import charges. Full tracking is provided, and every purchase is covered by a 30-day return policy.
