This print reproduces a small ink wash study of a frog by the Japanese painter Ito Jakuchu, rendered with the loose, confident brushwork typical of sumi-e. A few economical strokes give the frog its large eyes and rounded body, and a red seal mark sits in the upper corner, a traditional signature element in East Asian ink painting. The warm, creamy background leaves plenty of quiet space around the subject, letting the brushwork do the work.

The pared-back palette and gentle humour of the subject suit a Japandi or minimalist interior particularly well, though it also softens a busier eclectic room. It works nicely in a hallway, home office or reading nook, small spaces where a single characterful print can carry the whole wall without needing company.

The print is produced on 200 g/m2 FSC certified paper with a museum-quality matte finish, keeping the fine detail of the ink strokes and the red seal crisp. Framing is optional, offered in black, white or natural pine wood with shatterproof plexiglass, and arrives ready to hang.
