We have noticed a growing trend of famous artist designs being copied using AI, then turned into similar looking pieces that mimic the original artist's style and characteristics. We believe this practice is done to mislead customers, and we are strongly against it.
Where We Stand
Every design we sell is made by a human. Each piece comes from our in house team or a real, working artist. No exceptions.
Our use of AI tools is strictly limited to admin and operations. Artists' work is entirely their own. We embrace our team's use of AI internally behind the scenes to streamline repetitive tasks, improve workflow efficiency, and free up time to focus more energy on working for our artists and our customers.
Trust, creativity, and artistic integrity guide every decision we make about AI. Generative AI should never replace an artist's originality, talent, or rights, and we hold that line firmly.
Practices That Go Against Our AI Policy
A few practices cross the line for us, and we avoid them without exception:
- Using a generative AI tool to produce designs that deliberately mimic the style of an existing artist's original work.
- Generating designs based on current artistic or cultural trends without checking whether real artists have already created similar original work.
- Letting customers type a prompt into a generative AI tool on our site and order the result as a print.
- Listing AI generated designs under invented artist names to make them look more authentic than they are.
